Solar screens
Made-to-measure screens and sun protection
Looking for an attractive way to keep the sun out? Then solar screens are the answer. These vertical sun screens hang on the outside of your windows and stop the sun's rays before they hit the glass. So it stays cool inside without you sitting in the dark: you can still see outside.

What types of screens are there?
We install Winsol screens, for new builds as well as existing homes.

With built-in screens, you can't see a box on the outside wall. Everything is hidden in the cavity wall. They finish off the façade of your new build and keep your home cool in a natural way.

Screens with a rounded box, for a nostalgic look on your façade. They keep out the sun's heat and are very well suited to smaller windows.
More than sun protection
Screens don't just keep the heat out. Depending on the fabric, they also give you:
- privacy, because passers-by can't simply look in during the day
- light control, with a see-through fabric or a blackout screen for the bedroom
- fewer mosquitoes, because a lowered screen also keeps insects out
You can choose from lots of fabric and box colours, so the screens match your windows nicely.

For your terrace too
Besides screens for your windows, we also provide shade on the terrace. A retractable awning over your terrace turns a sunny afternoon into a pleasant place to sit, and rolls back up when you do want the sun.
Curious what's possible at your place? During a home visit, we look at which way your façade and terrace face and suggest the best combination.
Electric, and smart-controlled if you like
You operate screens electrically, with a switch or a remote control. Because we're electricians, we provide the power supply and the controls ourselves. With a sun and wind sensor or home automation, they lower automatically when the sun is on your windows. Choose solar-powered screens and no wiring is needed at all.
Questions we often get
Which is better, screens or roller shutters?
Screens keep out the sun while you can still see outside. Roller shutters black out completely and are sturdier against burglary. Many customers choose screens for the living area and roller shutters for the bedrooms. We're happy to advise you window by window.
Can screens be fitted to my existing windows?
Yes. We fit surface-mounted screens and solar-powered screens such as SolarFix to existing windows, without breaking open the façade.
Can screens cope with wind?
The fabric of a screen runs in side guides and can handle a stiff breeze. In a storm, it's best to raise the screens; with a wind sensor that happens automatically.
Does a screen also work as an insect screen?
A lowered screen also keeps insects out. If you want to keep mosquitoes out with the window open and the screen raised, choose an insect screen.
